As a future Leader Dog, BOLO joins me in trips to the grocery store, restaurants, retail stores, and local Southern CA outdoor locations to work on her manners skills. Today we decided to combine some focused training and exercise with a visit to our friends at Zoom Room HB.
Located in Huntington Beach, Blane Dydasco opened the facility this past August to provide small group training in agility, obedience, puppy classes, and to offer a wide range of enrichment classes. At Zoom Room, they focus on enhancing the dog-human bond through programs that help dogs become well socialized, well-mannered pets, and that help people become well educated, “well-trained” pet parents. There are a variety of programs to suit everyone’s needs.
BOLO loves the facility because their training philosophy focuses only on positive methodologies and Blane was fantastic! His approach to instruction is energetic and upbeat, making it motivating and fun throughout the training session.
We primarily spent our time working on proofing basic manners skills with distractions, but there are some amazingly fun opportunities for people to gather with their dogs and connect through agility leagues, dog parties, Meet- Up groups, and even a “Doggie Disco” night . BOLO and I had a great day and she even got a chance to do a little “shopping” but next time- look out John Travolta…it will be me and Henry doin’ “the hustle” at Doggie Disco Night.
