I found my sweet Pete at a local shelter not looking for a dog but asking for directions. All the dogs in his pen came charging at me, he hung back looking alone, afraid and lost, yet when our eyes met I knew he would be mine. A sixth sense maybe, he had battle wounds on his ears and scars on his head, afraid of the world but not of me. Fast forward one year and my best friend now goes to libraries encouraging children to read. He always dances with pure joy when I come home and sulks when I leave for work.Never does a day go by that I appreciate how lucky I am to have him in my life. He loves me as I him unconditionally!!!!
