Dan and I had been married for about 1 1/2 years and with no kids at home combined with Dan’s travels for business I had been hinting for sometime about brining a dog into our family. My opportunity came when Dan’s sister, a canine massage therapist and fellow pet advocate, was in town for a visit. On our drive to take her to the airport we saw the most adorable Golden Retriever pop his head out of the window in the car next to us.
At that moment Dan said, “Now that’s my kind of dog”.
As you can imagine I didn’t waste a moment and started seeking out adoption options. As soon as we returned home I went online and found the SCGRR. I promptly completed my application and before we knew it Beau had joined our family.
Beau was timid in the beginning, clearly unsure of his new surroundings, but with patience, love and consistency he learned to trust us, our family and friends too. He is such a hoot, loves everyone and can’t wait for friends to come over so he can lay down right in the middle of us easily stealing the show and becoming the center of attention. His signature maneuver is to roll on his back and innocently wait to be loved.
The SCGRR was amazing, Karyn, Beau’s foster mom was strategic in placing him where she knew he would thrive and we can’t thank her enough for this precious gift…our beloved Beau…
