We are here to help you plan and discover the best dog friendly beaches.
San Francisco, CA
Really doesn’t get any more picture perfect than sun, sand, waves and the glorious Golden Gate Bridge. Locals know that the beach and the trails are ideal for their four-legged friends.
Carmel, CA
Consider yourself a wine lover as you will never drink alone in Carmel-by-the-sea. Not only do they have gorgeous beaches, but many restaurants are dog friendly as well as hotels, too.
Long Beach, CA
Head to Rosie’s Dog Beach in Belmont Shore and have fun in the sun and sand. Notable that this is the ONLY dog beach in Los Angeles county where dogs can run free.
Huntington Beach, CA
Of course this might be our favorite because it’s near and dear to us. Not only can you watch the surfers, but your dog can frolic and catch a wave or two or 10. Plan your trip accordingly and you might even go during So Cal Corgi Day or the Surf City Dog competition.
Del Mar, CA
Head south to San Diego and make a stop at North Beach. This might be one of the oldest dog beaches around, since 1959. Dogs can be off-leash all summer long to frolic and play in the sand.
St. Petersburg, FL
Swing on over to the east coast and you will truly find heaven on earth for dogs. The Fort De Soto State park has a dog friendly beach as well as a special Paw Playgrounds for big and little dogs. Shade and water stations can also be found there, too.
Jekyll Island, GA
How does 20 acres of beachfront sound to you and your pup? While dogs are welcome year round, they do require leashes. We think you and your best friend will enjoy the sights and sounds on these white sands.
Nags Head, NC
365 days a year you can take your pup to the beach and have an amazing adventure together. Don’t forget to hit up the local ice cream stand, too. They keep frozen dog treats on hand for just the best dogs!
Wildwood, NJ
Just be on the look out for the 25 ft. tall fire-engine red hydrant and you will be in the right place! This Jersey shore town will be lots of fun and amusement for both dog and hooman.
Block Island, RI
If you are looking to step up your beach adventure to a new level, head to Block Island. You and your dog will board a ferry to the island and enjoy lots of dog-friendly spots to explore.
Provincetown, MA
With a nickname of “Dogville USA” this Cape Cod beach is a must do for your next beach vacation. You and your pup will have your choice of many dog friendly restaurants, dog parks and of course, sandy beaches.
